FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- March 5, 2003

A Solution to Training in a Tough Economy Offered by Central MA American Society for Training and Development

Not so long ago, the concept of selecting internal employees to be trained as trainers was considered radical, even risky.   During times of economic downturns, however, organizations begin to consider different strategies for maximizing internal resources and developing longer-term capabilities.   In light of the recent tough economy, and the need to maintain solid, quality training programs for employee development, the Central MA American Society for Training and Development   (CMASTD) has teamed up with training expert Chris Gatti for a facilitation skills workshop.

On Wednesday, April 9 2003 Chris Gatti will lead a highly interactive workshop, touching on the key principles of adult learning, core facilitation skills and techniques that are required for any trainer or facilitator.   Attendees will have the opportunity to practice with interactive exercises in each skill area, with some time devoted to debriefing and discussing the value of each skill set.

The meeting will be held at the Harrison Conference Center – The Learning Center at Marlboro located at 280 Locke Drive, Marlboro, MA, a facility specifically designed for corporate meetings. Breakfast and a tour of the conference center will begin at 7:30 a.m. The workshop runs from 8-10 a.m.

Speaker Christine R. Gatti, M.Ed. is the Principal of CRG Associates and brings 25 years of experience in business, education, training, human resource and organizational development.   Chris has worked with several well-known corporations, including:   Fidelity Investments, BayBank, The Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, Coopers & LyBrand, and Aetna. She worked as a Senior Training Consultant for Zenger-Miller (now AchieveGlobal), and was named “Top New Consultant of The Year”. She is currently the senior faculty member for the American Society for Training and Development’s Massachusetts Chapter’s highly acclaimed “Train-the-Trainer” Program.   Chris is featured in Workforce Magazine’s article “The Art and Craft of Training for Training”

ASTD is the world’s leading association of workplace learning and performance professionals. ASTD’s 70,000 members come from more than 100 countries and 15,000 organizations – multinational corporations, medium-sized and small businesses, government, academia, consulting firms, and product and service suppliers. The local chapter consists of training and organizational development professionals who invite speakers to update members on emerging and relevant topics in the training field.

The meeting is open to all. CMASTD member cost is $10, non-member $20. For more information or to register call 1-413-477-0932 or email megan@urinfinityinabox.com.
